Together with his brother Paul, Simon established Eastern Bridge in 2009 after practising in Echuca for eight years. Before entering legal practice, he worked in the sports management industry as an IT manager and general dogsbody.

Simon believes that good legal advice begins with taking the time to understand the practical situation a client is in. He has a knack for getting it, and he knows that legal advice needs to work in the real world.

As a director of Eastern Bridge, Simon works across all of the firm’s practice areas, although he particularly enjoys drafting contracts and any matter involving a spreadsheet. In addition to his Melbourne University law degree, he holds a Bachelor of Commerce, with a major in accounting and audit. For better or worse, his best mark at university was in mathematics.

In addition to Eastern Bridge, Simon has the responsibility of trustee directorship of a major group of companies in the food industry. He understands the difficulties that manufacturing businesses face.

Outside the office, Simon enjoys dabbling in astronomy, he has a real interest in technology and wishes he knew more about Australian art. He has assembled an almost comprehensive collection of Australian 50-cent coins (over 470 specimens). Together with Paul, he has also put together a beautifully presented collection of massive Mersenne prime numbers - printed far too finely to read - and is crushed every time someone asks, "When are you going to put something in those frames?!"
