Dual-qualified and admitted to practise in both Australia and India, she brings particular depth to cross-border succession matters, drawing on her background advising clients with assets and family connections spanning multiple jurisdictions.
Simran works with individuals, couples and families, including blended families and high net-worth clients, to develop estate planning strategies that are both comprehensive and practical. Her focus is on building sound succession plans that protect assets, minimise tax for beneficiaries and, wherever possible, help families avoid future disputes. Simran collaborates closely with her clients’ financial planners and accountants to ensure every estate plan aligns with their financial and taxation goals.
Simran's day-to-day practice spans the full breadth of wills, estates and succession work. She prepares estate plans ranging from straightforward wills to testamentary trust structures, advises on trust succession including preparation of trust succession documents. She also prepares advance planning documents for substitute decision-making such as enduring powers of attorney, appointment of medical treatment decision maker and restrictive practices substitute decision maker documents. Simran advises on superannuation succession strategies across retail, industry and self-managed super funds (SMSFs) and prepares binding death benefit nominations (BDBNs). She advises executors and trustees on the administration of deceased estates, prepares probate, letters of administration and reseal applications in the Supreme Court of Victoria and represents clients in wills disputes in the Victorian courts and superannuation disputes before AFCA.
